Hi Nicole, thanks for your really interesting & useful articles & advice! From several recent studies, I am now careful about buying or using sea/marine salt. This is due to the prevalence of microplastics which are endemic & carried everywhere, especially in flowing water and marine environments. I would recommend filtering this first. I prefer Himalayan salt purely because it has come from ancient embedded salt layers in the rock, therefore the presence of microplastics and other pollutants are far smaller.

Which athletes? Where did this take place?
