Fat Burning Tea

If you want to lose some belly fat fast and without much hustle, then this tea we will be making together is just right for you.

Working a full-time job and going consistently to the gym is not always feasible for everyone. Plus, keeping a restrictive diet is not easy, that’s why many of us quit at some point. But drinking a fat-burning tea in the morning is something everyone can do. There are no more excuses with this simple morning tea.

The belly fat-burning tea has only 5 carefully selected ingredients that work together to improve your metabolism and make you passively lose weight.

If you’re already on a diet, then you surely know how difficult it is to notice some results. This tea could help you along the way and, most importantly, speed up your results.

In order to explain what makes this tea so beneficial, we need to take a look at its ingredients and the effects they have on our bodies. Here is our list:Fat-Burning Tea - Ingredients

  • Gurmar (Gymnema Sylvestre)This herb helps in suppressing your appetite and reduces sugar cravings. Basically, the leaves of gurmar contain a compound called gymnemic acids that suppresses the taste of sugar by interacting with taste receptors located on the tongue. Due to this property, gurmar is often regarded as a sugar destroyer and is even used in the treatment of diabetes. When it comes to its nutritional properties, it was shown that gurmar leaves could lead to anti-obesity effects, preventing weight gain.
  • Ginseng (Siberian Ginseng) This ancient herb induces the production of gut bacteria, which impacts the way you absorb nutrients from food. It consequently causes changes in your metabolism and contributes to weight loss. Ginseng may also have an important role in controlling your appetite and preventing the over intake of food energy.
  • Oolong tea. Similar to green tea, oolong tea is imbued with caffeine, a well-known ingredient responsible for boosting your metabolism. The way it does that is by making your heartbeat just a little faster; it is like making easy but long-term cardio exercises. Caffeine is also known to suppress your appetite. This is why if you drink a coffee in the morning you no longer feel the need to eat.
  • Cinnamon (Ceylon Cinnamon) This bark (yes, cinnamon is a bark), rich in antioxidants, is particularly effective in stabilizing blood sugar, which may reduce your appetite and hunger. Many people just add cinnamon to their coffee, teas, or foods for its anti-inflammatory properties as well.
  • Black pepper. This common household spice contains a powerful compound called piperine. Besides the strong flavor, piperine can also prevent you from storing more fat. Because it increases your body’s temperature, it also has a low-fat burning effect. Your body burns calories to bring your temperature back to normal.

Where can I buy gurmer powder

Where else….Amazon. I agree with the other comment….list where each item would be best purchased. Also…is Gumar and Gymnena the same?

And also….which ginseng? Do you know how many are out there?

Hi Cathy,

There are a couple of specialized online health stores that sell Gurmar powder. For example, https://mountainroseherbs.com/. But it is best to use Google to find one that delivers to your area.

Amazon, eBay, and Etsy are also offering a good variety of herbs and powders.

What kind of ginseng? Siberian ginseng American ginseng?

Hi Will,

Thank you for your question.
The ginseng used in this recipe is Siberian ginseng.

I will update the article right now. We apologize for not clearly stating this in the article.

Many blessings and good health!

Try Mountain Rose Herbs in Oregón good company

There’s one thing that I don’t like and that is when you show a picture of a plant (herb) that I can’t click on to enlarged it. Clicking on it or touching it only open up a video, I want to see close ups.

Screenshot the plant, and you can enlarge it from your photo.

So 30 oz of water for one cup? Or can you store this to be consumed over a few days?

Hi Matt,

Yes, you can store the rest. Brewed tea will last 2 to 5 days in the fridge. Be sure to place the brewed tea in an airtight container.

Many blessings and good health!

Thanks!

I also found White Mulberry Leaf Tea to be good for fat burning and lowering blood sugar. Thanks for all this great information

Hi Shahin,

Great comment 🙂
Mulberry tea helps indeed with weight loss by reducing total blood glucose levels.

Do we strain before drinking? If so can I just put the ingredients in a tea bag, designed for loose leaf tea

Hi Brenda,

Yes, you should strain the tea before drinking.
Because you have the gurmar powder and the cinnamon powder, I would suggest mixing them directly in the water, instead of using the teabag.

Many blessings and good health!

It would be really great to be able to print the recipe without the pictures like a recipe card

I think it’s too bad we can’t just click and buy those 5 herbs without having to spend a half day to find them. I bet alot of people are stres with time and would love to just buy it here right away. Food for thoughts

Could we also add cayenne pepper to the mix to increase the efficacy of the mixture?

Is there a place I can buy the Fat Burning Tea to try it out? Thanks!

Hi Don E,

Thank you for your comment.
I am sorry about this, however, the Fat-Burning Tea is not available for purchase at the moment.

You can buy the 5 ingredients separately and follow the recipe in the article.

I could use that fat burning tea. When I told my neighbor that I was too chubby, he told me to keep my chins up.

This made me laugh so hard!!

Hey, I resemble that comment. Lol

Can we buy this in a regular tea bag. I don’t wanna have to mix everything together,

Do you happen to have the tea back in stock

There are several types of ginseng: which one? Again, using the Latin name is extremely helpful as there are often MANY versions of one single ‘named’ herb. Also, ginseng is an endangered plant and usually extremely expensive.

Hello Claude,

Thank you for posting this article. I don’t have pre measured Oolong tea in tea bags, how much do you recommend for using loose leaf Oolong tea?

Hi REGINA+WILLIAMS,

Regular tea bags contains 1.5 – 3 grams of loose tea leaves.
So you can add 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf oolong tea.

Many blessings and good health!

Thank you!

I got the same question as Matt, 30 Oz for 1 cup, are you able to store the rest and drink over a few days?

Hi John,

Yes, you can store the rest. Brewed tea will last 2 to 5 days in the fridge. Be sure to place the brewed tea in an airtight container.

Many blessings and good health!

what is the best way to reheat the tea? Microwave or on the stove?

I can’t drink caffeine. Is there a substitute for oolong tea?

Hi Lora,

You can use decaffeinated oolong tea.

However, the benefits depend on the method that has been used to decaffeinate the tea. If the tea is subjected to a chemical process to strip its caffeine content, then it can lose up to 70% of its natural antioxidants, meaning its health benefits are significantly decreased. If, however, a natural water process is used to decaffeinate the tea, then it loses only around 5% of its antioxidants, leaving 95% of the same health benefits as regular oolong tea. So, as long as you choose a tea that is naturally processed, you can receive almost all the same benefits without the added caffeine.

Many blessings and good health!

The tes should be warm up after storing in the fridge for next day?can we make fresh tea cup for every day?by reducing the quantity for one cup brew?

Hi Farah,

The brewed tea will last 2 to 5 days in the fridge. Be sure to place the brewed tea in an airtight container.

The safest method to warm up your cold tea is to place your cold tea in a clean mug. Boil water in another utensil and place the mug in the hot water for 3-4 minutes. Reheating your tea in a teapot and on a stovetop, is also safe. You have more control on the reheating process temperature-wise. You don’t want to reach high temperatures when reheating your tea.

And of course you can adjust the recipe accordingly to prepare just enough amounts of tea that you know you will be able to drink while the tea is still warm, flavorful, and fresh.

Many blessings and good health!

thanks allot,I appreaciate your prompt response.

Can I substitute the oolong tea for my coffee?

Hi Marilyn,

We also have a recipe for Fat-Burning Coffee, so you can try this instead:

Many blessings and good health!

This may sound like a bizarre question, but I’m very serious. I have been drinking smoothies that are supposed to burn fat while you sleep. After a week I’ve seen no progress. Do the smoothies work only when you sleep? Could my insomnia prevent results? I fall asleep but wake up 2-4 hours later.

This recipe is not a smoothie so your question is unrelated to this tea remedy. Smoothies can be made from a huge selection of plants. The fact you drink a smoothie does not mean it will burn fat, it depends what is in it! If you drink alcohol before bed, that will cause night wakings. You might talk to your doctor about waking in the middle of the night as that can be a symptom of depression or anxiety.

Do you have any recipes to treat E.D. ?, Herbs, strong natural treatments that deliver positive results.

Hi Michael,

Some research shows that certain herbs have varying degrees of success for ED. These herbs include: Panax ginseng, Maca, Yohimbine, Ginkgo, Mondia whitei.

You can read more about it here:

The tea mixture is bitter. I’m surprised at how strong the Siberian ginseng bitterness is. I don’t want to add sugar as that works against the sugar killing process. I wonder, does adding licorice tea to improve the flavor have a negative effect with this tea?

Hi Joy,

Although ginseng is known for its health benefits, it is also known for its bitter taste, which is difficult to mask.

You can adjust the recipe by using only 1/2 teaspoon ginseng.
To enhance the flavor, you can also add in some honey, maple syrup, date syrup, or lemon.

Honey is an all-natural sweetener, and adding it to tea is quite a popular practice.
Maple syrup is a treasury of minerals, B vitamins, and antioxidants. It is also much better in terms of calories than sugar.
Brown date syrup has a pleasant, strong, and very sweet taste. It perfectly boosts the flavor of black teas.

Licorice is also a good option. Some studies indicate that licorice root extract/tea lowers body mass index and supports weight loss.

Many blessings and good health!

Be careful with licorice, though, as it is my understanding that it can raise blood pressure too.

Nicole, can you please tell me what and where you purchase the Gurmar and the Siberian Ginseng? I have looked on Amazon, and I created an account on MountainRoseHerbs but as per the pictures you added to this page I can not find the exact products. So I would really like to know exactly what you use. Thank You

Hi Debby,

It does not have to be the same exact brand. Our authors live in different parts of the US, Canada, Australia, or Europe.

There are a couple of specialized online health stores that sell these herbs in the USA. Like I mentioned before, Mountain Rose Herbs has a good variety of herbs: https://mountainroseherbs.com/:
https://mountainroseherbs.com/gymnema-powder
https://mountainroseherbs.com/eleuthero-root
https://mountainroseherbs.com/search-results-page?q=oolong+tea

But it is best to use Google to find one that delivers to your area.

Many blessings and good health!

Hello Nicole,
I am obese due to fatty liver, diabetes 2 and inflammation in my joints not arthritis per labs.
I used to be healthy until menopause began, unfortunately I didn’t know that was what it was and Dr said it’s fibromyalgia threw Rx’s my way and that’s it.
I will get these ingredients for the tea yet what might you suggest for the fatty liver and 386 cholesterol, very high triglycerides and wreckage of gut health from hospital stay with double covid pneumonia. Major muscle mass loss and liver damage from remdesivir IV for 5 days given in hospital..
Trying to recover since last August, had ALL my tailbone length hair fall out by November too.
It’s been hard enough for me to live after losing my only child to gliblastioma, this physical onslaught after surviving covid has me teetering.

I take supplements yet my gut is probably not processing nutrients and I still have to be here ready to care for my 83 year old Mama when she slows down from running circles around me and taking care of my disabled brother.
I haven’t been able to work and I miss being able to get out to walk.. To have a life!

This is for Debbie. There’s a holistic doctor online that I think can help you. Here’s the website: http://www.liverdoctor.com

Thank you Lydia.

Just because I can. What you are describing is known as an INFUSION.
Here is the definition of tea “Tea is an aromatic beverage prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured or fresh leaves of Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to China and other East Asian countries”

I’m on BP med, can the tea affect my BP?
Thank you.

Can I replace Oolong tea with Green tea?

Hi Thomas,

Both Green Tea and Oolong Tea are good for weight loss.
However, when it comes to Green tea vs. Oolong tea antioxidants’ presence, Oolong tea wins as it contains more antioxidants than Green tea. Drinking just one cup of Oolong tea daily can accelerate the weight loss process.

Many blessings and good health!

I have been making this tea for a little over a week now, and I think I’m gaining weight. How long does it take the herbs to start working?

Hi Jack,

Herbal medications typically take longer than Western pharmaceuticals to produce a response. Usually, a positive response can be seen within 2-4 weeks. It won’t always be a night and day difference.

And unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all diet. Every person is different and may react to different herbs and teas differently. Always seek professional medical advice before choosing home remedies, especially if you have already a medical condition or if you take medications.

Many blessings and good health!

May I use essential oils instead (black pepper and cinnamon oil) and add a drop before sipping the tea?

Hi Lill,

Yes, essential oils can be used and they are safe for internal use if you are using high-quality, organic, adequately tested, and sourced essential oils.
If the essential oil says it is for “aromatherapy only” then do not use it in this recipe. Those types of oils have been blended with perfumes or toxins to achieve the aroma and are not safe for ingestion. If your oil says it is “natural” “organic” or “pure”, it may still have additives, so read the entire label to be certain the essential oil is fit for consumption.
Essential oils are 75 – 100 times more concentrated than whole herbs. One drop of essential oil could be equivalent to a handful of pounds of the herb. So ingesting the wrong amount of essential oils can burn the mucosa in your mouth, esophagus, gut lining, and beyond in the digestive tract.
Always ask your doctor or another medical professional when taking herbs or essential oils for health. Many herbs interact with prescription drugs and are not recommended for use by someone who is pregnant or nursing.

Many blessings and good health!

Thanks

Is there anything you can replace for the ginseng with that has the same effect as the ginseng is to pricey for my budget?

This makes more then a one cup. Can I put the remainder of the tea in the refrigerator and reheat or do I have to make a fresh batch every morning

Hi Corlissa,

Yes, you can store the rest. Brewed tea will last 2 to 5 days in the fridge. Be sure to place the brewed tea in an airtight container.
Even though reheating cold tea is not always recommended, it is possible to warm it by boiling water in another utensil and place the mug with the cold tea in the boiling water for 3-4 minutes. It is called the ‘double boiler method.
You can also adjust the recipe and make exactly how much you will drink that morning.

Many blessings and good health!

Thank you I am sorry I meant heating the way you described.

Is it safe to have one to three cups in the morning? I drink at least two cups in morning.

Looking forward to the results.

Is this recipe in one of her books? So I can mark it.
