Benefits of Vitamin C and Where You Can Find It

There are endless benefits to consuming adequate amounts of Vitamin C, but in this post, we’ll explore the top three. We’ll also discover which everyday foods contain the most Vitamin C, giving you a myriad of delicious ways to feel better.

Immune-Boosting: White blood cells are integral to the body’s immune system, destroying bacteria while creating antibodies. Vitamin C helps the body produce more white blood cells, which protects the body from infection.  This boosts the immune system, giving you a leg up on pesky viruses. Bonus: Vitamin C is also great for the skin, brightening and increasing collagen.

As autumn sets in and cold weather intensifies, it’s the perfect time to boost your immune system. Many of my friends are already getting sick, but my go-to remedy is a combination of Vitamin C and Usnea, nature’s powerful antibiotic.

While I enjoy making remedies at home, I’ve found this Usnea Tincture Spray to be especially convenient—it lets me quickly target throat aches and inflammation with just a spray. If you’re looking for natural support, this simple combo is my top choice to stay healthy this season.

Powerful Antioxidant: In today’s modern world, chemicals reign supreme, filling the atmosphere with harmful free radicals. Free radicals cause inflammation, leading to aches, pains, and a suppressed immune system. To fight free radical cell damage, you need to consume antioxidants.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can actually help regenerate other antioxidants within the body.

Fights Chronic Disease: Vitamin C instantly boosts the immune system, but did you know it has a long-term effect? Studies show that those with a diet high in Vitamin C have a lower risk of heart disease, cancer, and neurodegenerative conditions.

This may be because Vitamin C reduces oxidative stress, a major contributor to chronic disease.

What Foods Have Vitamin C?

How do you incorporate more Vitamin C into your diet? Add these delicious fruits and veggies to your grocery list. Acerola cherries, guava, oranges, lemons, pineapples, berries, and peaches rank highly on the Vitamin C scale.

Vegetables with high Vitamin C content include peppers, spinach, kale, broccoli, tomatoes, peas, sweet potatoes, and carrots. You can also get a boost of Vitamin C from herbs like parsley and cilantro or superfoods like baobab.

If you are wondering how I learned all this… it’s no secret. All the information is from a health and wellness guide containing holistic protocols for most health conditions. Even the very serious ones. It made me like a guru among my friends, and they treasure me for the information I learned. I’ll leave a link for you to check it out here!

Why Make Boosted Vitamin C Gummies?

Making these Vitamin C gummies is easy and gives your body a high dose of essential minerals. We chose each ingredient with care, hoping it would give you the best chance of recovering quickly if sick or staying clear of the neighborhood bug.

The supplements you’ll find out there are mostly fake. If this affirmation sounds too harsh, there’s another article discussing this, called “Are Your Supplements Fake?”

That’s the reason I make my own remedies, or get them from certified sources that are proven as a fact that are organic and non-GMO. I’d recommend you at any time to visit Nicole’s Apothecary and choose your own remedy that you need. The remedies that made me thrive among my friends are an inflammatory salve against joint pain and a gut-regenerating blend.

Here’s a quick rundown of what each ingredient does for your body.

Apple Juice: Apple juice gives the gummies a pleasant flavor and is an excellent source of Vitamin C and fiber.  Be sure to purchase 100% apple juice without added sweetener, as sugar can have the opposite effect and deplete the immune system.

Acerola Cherry Powder: Acerola cherries are a superfood that was once hard to get your hands on. Thanks to modern shipping, everyone can access acerola cherries benefits, especially if you purchase your cherries in powder form. This fruit has 50-100 times more Vitamin C than apples, lemons, or oranges.  Some people say it’s also anti-aging.

Gelatin: A rich source of protein, gelatin helps create a set gummy with a traditional texture. This is a must-have for any home chef, as it allows you to avoid toxin-filled store-bought jello.

Manuka Honey: This particular honey is an excellent holistic tool full of antioxidants. The honey pairs perfectly with the tart cherries, giving the gummies a light, fruity flavor. Manuka honey is full of antibacterial, antiseptic, and antifungal benefits. Alternatively, you can use organic raw local honey, which may help with seasonal allergies.
