Gut Renewal Elixir

This Gut Renewal Elixir is a daily essential for you especially when you have tummy problems.

I drink mine before even making my morning coffee, and I am left with higher energy and fewer digestion issues throughout the day. It can help de-bloat, relieve gastrointestinal pain, and relieve IBS symptoms.

There is a variety of both beneficial and tasty ingredients in this recipe. It has a tangy, yet sweet refreshing flavor. Imagine getting all those benefits, in a tasty and cost-effective way!

Medicinal Benefits

Apple Cider Vinegar

Acetic acid promotes detoxification throughout your body. It is also an antibacterial and antifungal, helping to rid your body of the bad as well. It is also rich in antioxidants called polyphenols that are good for healthy bacteria in your gut.

Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries to promote healing for a variety of ailments. Vinegar use dates back thousands of years, it is believed Hippocrates recommended using it to clean wounds and treat sores.

Lemon/Lime

The acidity of the citrus fruits helps the saliva break down the food you eat and aids your digestion process. They contain a large variety of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. This includes vitamin C and folate which both help to improve the health of your protective gut lining. Those with acid sensitivity in their stomachs may choose to avoid adding citrus fruits.

Mint

Peppermint

The main ingredients in mint are Menthol and Methyl Salicylate which have calming, antispasmodic effects on your intestinal tract. It can also help in relieving indigestion due to the muscle-relaxing qualities it has.

Several studies show improved IBS symptoms in patients taking it orally. It can help to improve the flow of bile as well. It contains carminative properties that help relieve flatulence and stomach pains. It’s one of the most powerful ingredients for this gut renewal elixir.

Just as mint is a key ingredient in this recipe, other specific herbs target each one of your organs and can be used as remedies. You should check out and save The Herbal Body Map for future reference.

Turmeric and Black Pepper

Pairing your turmeric with black pepper will activate it, making it much easier for your body to absorb and retain all of the wonderful benefits it has to offer. Turmeric helps to increase the diversity in your gut’s microbiome, by increasing the good bacteria and decreasing the bad. Black pepper has carminative properties and helps to stimulate the release of hydrochloric acid in your stomach which aids the digestion process.

Cayenne

The ingredient capsaicin is found in cayenne, and it has been found to stimulate nerves in your stomach which produce digestive fluids that will help your digestion process. Some studies show it may help to prevent the most common stomach ulcers.

Capsaicin has been shown to improve the blood flow throughout your body which can decrease feelings of fatigue. There are several studies that show capsaicin use increased the bacterial diversity in the gut microbes after regular intake of capsaicin.

Ginger

Gingerol is found in ginger, it can provide nausea relief and help your gastrointestinal motility. It increases the growth of the Lactobacillus and the bifidobacterium similar to a prebiotic. It helps the food move efficiently through your digestive tract, preventing bloating, constipation, and stomach pain.

Ginger relieving gastrointestinal discomfort is also believed to help reduce the likelihood of acid reflux.

Pineapple

Pineapple contains enzymes that help break down protein in your gut and relieve bloating, constipation, and gas. It has a compound called bromelain which makes it easier for your food to digest and absorb efficiently. Pineapple is full of vitamins and nutrients, such as vitamin C, manganese, iron, and vitamin B6. It helps regulate your bowel movements making them regular and easy.

All of these together are extremely beneficial for renewing your gut health, especially in a society full of inflammatory foods and chemicals that cause disruption to your gut’s microbiome.

All the microplastics and pesticides found in food are harmful. You may feel the symptoms of this intoxication right now, yet you are not aware of the root cause!

Remember to always check herbs for drug interactions especially if you are currently taking different medicines or supplements. This yummy elixir takes less than an hour to make and produces two servings!

If your healthcare provider has advised your husband to avoid mint, it’s important to follow this recommendation. You can easily modify the Gut Renewal Elixir recipe to exclude mint.

There are several other herbs and ingredients that can provide similar digestive benefits without the potential interactions.
