DIY ”Gout Out” Foot-Rebuilding Salve

In this article, you will learn how to make the DIY “Gout Out” Foot-Rebuilding Salve, a powerful addition to your natural gout-out protocol. This salve is particularly effective for reducing inflammation, restoring joints and tissues to a state of health, and so much more.

Gout is a condition that affects the joints of the body, often in the feet. It is caused by excess uric acid in the blood which builds up to create urate crystals that accumulate around joints causing varying degrees of pain, and inflammation and can even damage joints, and other organs.

Luckily this condition can be treated by supporting your healing process with the help of herbs combined with any necessary lifestyle changes or improvements to create a state of healing and health.

We will focus on just 3 of the many herbs that are useful against gout, learning about each of them and exactly how they can help. These powerful plants are Tumeric, Moringa, and Comfrey.

Most people think gout is just about painful flare-ups in the feet—but what if I told you that’s just the beginning? Left unchecked, uric acid doesn’t just stay in your joints—it can crystallize in your kidneys, leading to stones, damage, and long-term dysfunction. Inflammation from gout can also trigger arthritis, worsening mobility issues over time.

There’s a way to stop this cycle before it’s too late. A guide to managing inflammation, balancing uric acid, and preventing long-term damage naturally is already available. You’ll find exactly what you need here.

Getting to Know the Active Ingredients in Gout Away Salve

Moringa

Moringa (Moringa Oleifera) is a powerful plant ally for healing and in this instance, it is useful for treating gout as it has been found that amoringa can lower uric acid levels. High uric acid levels are what lead to gout development.

According to the study which explains these findings on Moringa “ The mechanism of it reduces uric acid levels, especially by inhibiting xanthine oxidase ( the enzyme required to produce uric acid  ) and antioxidant activity which results in decreasing uric acid production.”

Moringa is also a powerful anti-inflammatory herb, which makes it helpful for managing gout flare-ups throughout your treatment. Use Moringa through topical ( in the form of this gout out  salve ) and internal use ( tincture, tea, or consuming the powder or juice internally)

Turmeric

This amazing root is well known as a super powerful anti-inflammatory, Turmeric ( Curcuma Longa ) is our next ingredient in the gout away salve. It contains a compound called Curcumin which is a pain reliever that can be much appreciated by any of you struggling with this condition.

While Turmeric root does not directly address the root causes of gout it is great for topical application to help manage the pain and reduce inflammation of the gout. These benefits can support you while you work with other herbs and implement lifestyle changes to address your personal root cause of uric acid excess which leads to gout.

Comfrey

Comfrey ( Symphytum Officinale) will also contribute added pain relief and inflammation-reducing effects to your gout-away salve. Beyond this, it offers a rebuilding effect for your joints which can support your healing from this condition. It can rebuild tissues including joints at a speed due to it containing a compound calle allantoin.

This plant has been a staple in herbalism for hundreds of years and has been used for treating gout since the Middle Ages. Preparing Comfrey as a potent infused oil to be applied to the affected areas works rapidly for foot rebuilding as you recover from gout, it is best suited for external use for this purpose.

Why Your Gout Keeps Coming Back—And How to Stop It

It’s not just bad luck. If gout flare-ups keep happening, it means your body is struggling to flush out excess uric acid properly. But here’s what most people don’t realize—your gut and kidneys play a major role in this process. If they’re overburdened or sluggish, uric acid builds up, leading to painful crystal deposits in your joints.

The key? Supporting your body’s natural detox pathways so uric acid doesn’t stand a chance. The right herbs can help balance your system and keep flare-ups at bay. This is where you’ll find what works.

The Hidden Trigger Behind Gout No One Talks About

Most people focus on food triggers like red meat and alcohol when it comes to gout—but that’s only part of the story. If your body isn’t eliminating uric acid efficiently, even a “clean” diet won’t be enough to stop flare-ups. Inflammation, sluggish circulation, and impaired kidney function can all make it harder for your body to flush out excess uric acid.

That’s why a full-body approach is crucial. These powerful herbal remedies don’t just target the symptoms—they support the organs responsible for keeping uric acid levels in check, helping to prevent future attacks before they start.

This salve can also be used in general as a topical anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving salve. Due to the herbs it contains it can be used for other ailments that compromise the skin, bones, cartilage, and connective tissues.

In the case of treating gout, this salve can be part of your anti-gout protocol which should include other measures to address the root causes of your gout flare-ups.

Beyond Pain Relief—Repair and Strengthen for the Long Run

With a powerful blend of calendula, arnica, St. John’s Wort, and cottonwood buds, it doesn’t just soothe discomfort—it helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and support tissue repair. Combined with cayenne for deep relief and frankincense for joint support, this formula works to actively heal, not just mask the pain.

Considerations and Possible Contraindications

Other herbs you could include in your gout salve if you don’t have access to those used above,  or if you feel attracted to working with them include nettles, hibiscus, and ginger.

As with the use of any new herb or preparation, please start with a test patch before committing to extended and full-quantity use. This helps determine any possible allergic reaction to the ingredients.

As this is an external preparation it is generally very safe for most people to use. Please be sure to use any herb with personal responsibility and continue your research to determine what herbs are suitable for your unique body state, especially if you are using herbs alongside any medications or chronic conditions.
