Anti-Inflammatory Diet: Homemade Anti-Inflammatory Cubes

Living with chronic inflammation is painful and disruptive to your everyday life. If you live with chronic inflammation, then you know how flare-ups can come out of nowhere and make physical activity difficult.

You may have had to call out of work or cancel plans because of your inflammation symptoms. You may also be tired of feeling like your inflammatory condition runs your life.

There are many anti-inflammatory medications on the market, but they contain dangerous chemicals and can cause other issues in the body. Natural remedies and healthy lifestyle changes can reduce and treat your inflammation without side effects. In this article, I’ll share with you my easy anti-inflammatory cubes recipe.

What Causes Inflammation?

Acute inflammation is the body’s natural response to an irritant or wound. Your body will send inflammatory cells to the site of an injury to help heal a wound. Acute inflammation is normal and doesn’t last longer than a couple of days.

Chronic inflammation is when your body sends inflammatory cells to part of your body, even when there’s no injury. Inflammatory cells and substances attack healthy tissue from the inside, which leads to a swelling inflammation that comes and goes.

Autoimmune disorders, toxins, infections, or untreated injuries can cause chronic inflammation. Stress, alcohol, smoking, and obesity may also make you more likely to develop long-term inflammation.

Symptoms of chronic long-term inflammation are chest pain, fatigue, fever, joint pain, joint stiffness, mouth sores, rash, depression, diarrhea, constipation, weight fluctuations, and frequent infections. This condition is serious and can cause long-term pain and irreversible damage to the body.

Natural Remedies for Chronic Inflammation

You may find that changing your routine or cutting certain things out of your diet reduces the amount of inflammation in your body. You can try out different remedies, and healthy tips to find what works best for you.

Natural remedies can reduce your inflammation, but they are not a replacement for medical care. Please make sure you are getting the medical care you need to treat your inflammatory condition if needed.

Getting Enough Sleep: When you get enough sleep at night, your body can reduce inflammation by relaxing your blood vessels and dropping your blood pressure. When you don’t get enough sleep, the body cannot repair itself, relax blood vessels, or drop blood pressure. Lack of adequate sleep can cause inflammation to worsen and can even cause inflammation in the brain, leading to Alzheimers.

Drinking Enough Water: You want to drink around 15 cups of water a day to reduce inflammation. Water helps your body flush out the toxins that can cause certain inflammation and helps keep your joints lubricated to avoid arthritis flare-ups.

No Alcohol or Smoking: Smoking and drinking alcohol can cause chronic inflammation to worsen. Both alcohol and nicotine are toxic to the body, which causes your body to work harder than usual to flush toxins. They also dehydrate the body and interfere with your body’s natural processes.

Smoking and drinking alcohol can also cause chronic inflammation conditions. Smoking can cause arthritis, lupus, hyperthyroidism, and cirrhosis. Drinking can cause intestinal inflammation and organ dysfunction. Taking alcohol and cigarettes out of your life may cure your inflammation issues and help you live your life without chronic pain.

Staying Away From Inflammatory Foods: Inflammatory foods can feed the swelling and discomfort that comes from long-term inflammation. Food like chips, fried foods, bread, dairy and bread not only trigger inflammation but can cause certain chronic inflammation conditions.

You can replace inflammatory foods in your diet with anti-inflammatory foods that’ll help you feel better in life. Anti-inflammatory foods are things like spinach, kale, collards, almonds, walnuts, salmon, mackerel, tuna, and sardines, blueberries, cherries, and oranges.

The Medicinal Benefits of Each Ingredient in My Recipe

These homemade anti-inflammatory ice cubes can work wonders for your body and taste delicious too. Each ingredient in this DIY recipe has unique anti-inflammatory properties and contributes to reducing your risk of developing chronic inflammation.

Turmeric is an Indian spice with a powerful compound called curcumin. Curcumin inhibits a protein and enzyme in the body that promotes inflammation. Adding tumeric to your recipes or getting a turmeric supplement is an easy way to ingest.

Oranges contain a lot of vitamin C, a powerful anti-inflammatory. The vitamin C in oranges helps your body form blood vessels and cartilage while fighting inflammation. Eating more oranges can reduce the severity of conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory cancers.

Lemon is effective when treating long-term inflammation, especially digestive inflammation. Lemon contains vitamins and flavonoids that reduce inflammation and dissolve inflammatory substances within the body.

Ginger Root decreases levels of inflammation in the body. The nutrients in ginger improve immune function, treat infections, and aid in digestion. You can benefit from using ginger in your food if you suffer from conditions like arthritis or inflammatory bowel disorders.

Black Pepper is a staple in most households and offers some powerful anti-inflammatory and pain-reducing effects. Pepper contains piperine, which reduces joint swelling and inflammatory substances in the blood by targeting inflammatory pathways.

Oh my…..I can’t wait to make these for my 😜

Hi Nicole. I have been making decoctions and using seal a meal bags to freeze them for later use. I put 100ml in a bag and squeeze most of the air from the bag and seal it. It has been a great way to use fresh herbs all year around. Thought’s?

Can I use organic ginger powder and if so how much

I freeze something similar (fire cider ingredients) and add a frozen cube to my smoothie every morning

Gonna make this tonight

Thanks so much!!

My sister & I both have an allergy to citric acid. My sister has an allergic reaction to most fruits since she’s gotten older. What is something I could use instead of oranges or lemons. We develop fever blisters on our mouth and I have also had blisters inside my mouth and down my throat.
Cathy

My daughter makes something called golden paste. Very similar. Look it up. It has no citrus

Do you use boiling water or just hot?

Just hot otherwise will kill off beneficial ingredients

made these and freeze dried them for long-term storage.

Do you have to peel the ginger root?

I made a tray & a half and they turned out DELICIOUS! We enjoyed drinking the tea and look forward to making them on the regular. ;0)) Thanks and keep all those GREAT Nutritious recipes coming!

I made this yesterday and rather than freeze the mixture I just kept it covered in a container in the refrigerator. I used it as a dipping sauce for some pork. It was delicious! And I must say that today my wrists and thumbs seem much better!
I did add 1 packet of stevia to the entire mix which took the edge off the tartness.

Can you use these just as ice cubes in herbal teas or does it need to be hot tea for full benefits?
